What We Do. . .

One Sunday in July each year Christmas In July - National City coordinates the efforts of hundreds of volunteers to rehabilitate homes throughout National City. Carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, weatherization, trash removal and general cleaning may be done leaving each home safe, warm and dry. Volunteers from all walks of life work side by side with skilled trade people as months of planning, organizing and fund raising culminate into a one-day renovation event.Christmas In July - National City helps people who own their homes, but because of age, physical limitation and low income, are unable to complete their own home repairs. Typically, these individuals are elderly and/or have disabilities. Nonprofit facilities such as community centers that serve large populations of low-income people are included in the annual renovation efforts. All work is performed free of charge to the recipients.
